- Did the treatment (or the failure to treat) fall short of accepted practice?
- Have you suffered an injury, loss or corrective cost you would not otherwise have had?
- Did the events happen within the last three years — or have you only recently realised?
NHS or private
It doesn't matter which
Claims can be brought against NHS dentists, private clinics, hospital trusts and body-corporate providers alike. Every UK dental professional is required to carry indemnity for exactly this purpose.
Who can claim
Patients, parents and estates
Adult patients bring claims directly. A parent or guardian can bring one on behalf of a child. Where a patient has died, a personal representative of the estate can bring the claim on their behalf.
